Save the polar animals!

August 8, 2023 by Nafsika-Marina Smyrli

Objectives: To learn or revise the names of the polar animals in a fun way and practice saying the sentences, for example, “I saved/rescued the polar bear!”. “I saved/rescued the penguin!”.

Age group: Preschoolers, age 4/5-6 years old.

Preparation: Place on the floor light blue pieces of paper to demonstrate the ice. Underneath each paper place 1 flashcard of a polar animal.

Instructions: Ask students to rescue the animals. Pupils run slowly around the ice while the song is playing. When you stop the music, pupils must step on the ice, lift the paper and say which animal they rescued.

Time: 10 minutes.

Note: For more advanced learners of English, prompt them to say the whole sentence; “I saved/rescued the polar bear!”. “I saved/rescued the penguin!”.
