“Ahoj!”

August 8, 2023 by Nafsika-Marina Smyrli

Objectives: To revise the consonants and the vowels by creating new words.

Age group: 6-8 years old.

Preparation: Cut out pirate ships from cardboard. On each porthole write 4 consonants and on each of the three flags write a vowel.

Instructions: Divide the students into two teams. Give each team a pirate ship and a piece of paper. Ask them to use the consonants and the vowels to make new words. When you shout out “Ahoj!” the students have 10 minutes at their disposal to create and write on their papers as many words as they can. Give 1 point to each team for each word they create. The team with the most points wins!

Time: 20-30 minutes.
