August 8, 2023 by Nafsika-Marina Smyrli

Objectives: To practice reading and making new words.

Age group: 5-7 years old.

Preparation: Cut out flowers and pots from cardboard. On each flower write the beginning sound/s (onset) of a word and on the pots the ending (rhyme). Use CVC (consonant, vowel, consonant) words.

Instructions: Ask children to match the flowers to the correct pots to create words. After they finish, they can practice reading the words they made.

Time: 10-15 minutes.
