Objectives: To revise vocabulary and spelling in a fun way.
Age group: 7-10 years old.
Preparation: You will need some white pieces of paper, some pencils, a whiteboard, and a marker. Hand out a paper with a big boat to pupils.
Instructions: Write a letter from the alphabet on the board. Students fill up the boat with as many words beginning with the given letter as they can think of. When you shout out; “Abandon the boat!”, everyone drops the pencils down. All children get 2 points for each word. The pupil with the most points is the winner!
Time: 10-20 minutes.
Note: For more advanced learners, you can check the spelling and only the students who have the correct spelling, can win.
